A little effort brings great joy
In helping Holocaust survivors, we try to meet their needs in a variety of ways, not just through financial support. This can also mean practical help such as altering clothes. Often the elderly were able to do these chores themselves in the past, but no longer can due to trembling hands or poor eyesight.
With a sewing machine and other supplies we go and visit them. One person needs old towels hemmed that hold fond memories. Another person needs clothing to be taken in or made larger. Again and again we see how happy people are when the job is done, and we are grateful that we can do this for them. It’s often the little things that make a big difference!
