Students from Ethiopia
I immigrated to Israel together with my grandmother from Ethiopia. My mother passed away when I was three years old. My father remarried, but I am out of contact with him. I was 16 years old when my grandmother passed away. I studied and worked to pay my rent, but it wasn’t easy.
Sometimes the electricity was cut off as I couldn’t pay the bill and I had no food. Sometimes I missed class to make extra hours at work to solve my financial problems. I worked and volunteered with troubled youth. Baruch HaShem (Praise the Lord), today I am a university student in Jerusalem thanks to your help. I want to work in youth care, because I believe every child given the right guidance and attention will approach the future in a more positive way.
