The Big Day
Today we had the opening of Café L’Ami.
It was beautiful and touching to be able to be part of the restoration of Jerusalem and to invest in the people that are loved so endlessly by God. The deputy mayor of Jerusalem placed the Mezuzah on the front door, followed by the blessing: Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu melech ha’olam asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu likbo’a m’zuzah. Blessed are you Lord our God, King of the universe, who sanctifies us with his commandments and made us to write the mezuzah on the door-frames.
What is on the paper inside the small tube of the Mazuzah ?
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (Sjema)
“Hear, Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is One!” Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength, these commandments that I gave you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door-frames of your houses and on your gates”.
Chairs/tables/sun protection and so on have to be bought still. Who can help?
